I made a decision to go to Ukraine and volunteer for the International Legion in Defence of Ukraine. I began a long and painful process of psychological and physical preparation for what I anticipated to be a brutal and bloody conflagration that will eventually lead to the declaration of World War III. As the days went on, I began to focus on as many different media sources as I could. I phased out those who displayed the same images and video clips repeatedly, looking for reports that focused on the people, their plight, heartaches, pain, and anguish. The human part of the story is always the most compelling. It is in this light, that my heartbeat began to change. I began to feel a calling that would become stronger with each day, and sometimes with every hour, that passed. This is a short story about self discovery as I pushed the boundaries of mental preparedness for War.
