NEW VIEW

This is a driving modern jazz tune in 7/4. It is somewhat reminiscent of the more recent quintet music by Dave Holland in that it’s in an odd-metered time signature and provides an energetic backdrop for the soloists. The first solo section is in 7/4 and features the tenor sax. The middle section of the tune shifts into 4/4 time and features short solos for guitar and trombone. It can be heard on “Alan Ferber Nonet: Scenes From An Exit Row.” This download includes all transposed instrumental parts and a concert score. Instrumentation: trumpet, trombone, alto sax, tenor sax, bass clarinet, guitar, piano, bass, and drums.
