SCENES FROM AN EXIT ROW

I wrote the melody of this tune while sitting in an exit row on a cross-country flight…thus the title. It is straight-eighth note rhythmic pulse coupled with a harmonic framework that primarily utilizes shifting minor chords. The second solo section features a more open harmonic and rhythmic landscape. This tune is the title track from my first nonet recording on the Fresh Sound New Talent record label. The recording features trombone and guitar. This download includes all transposed instrumental parts and a concert score. Instrumentation: trumpet, trombone, alto sax, tenor sax, bass clarinet, guitar, piano, bass, and drums.
