This is the edition Auguste Doutrepont produced in 1890 improving upon that by Tross. This text is one of many rewritings of Ovid in medieval France. It is one of the longest and most discussed of the tradition.
This volume includes an essay comparing the Clef with Ovid's Ars amatoria as well as a concordance for the two. Doutrepont also addresses the manuscript and editions of the text as well as the poetic and linguistic elements of the Clef.
The introductory material by Doutrepont is in French while the Clef and related texts in the appendix are in Old French.
