Whatever Gods May Be is authored by a WWII veteran who recently taught college courses to service men and women on site in the Gulf aboard US Navy Ships. The book examines the role of religion in modern societies in an effort to identify a proper god for our times. The approach is comparative, examining both eastern and western religious traditions, in a review of literature on the subject, including commentary on Mircea Eliade, Joseph Campbell, Ludwig Feuerbach, Huston Smith and more. The book is styled as a personal journey and leads the author to a vision of social justice.
