General Dispatches is a twelve month journey taken by a group of men belonging to one of the oldest heritage organizations in the nation. The Dispatches captures the activities of the Ben E. Caudill Camp #1629, as they offer dedications, set stones, hold church services, provide public relations, assist in researching ancestry and reenact. The purpose is to offer a torch of knowledge to the rising generation in hopes that the flame of truth and justice will be carried forward. The goal is simple: that by leaving a legacy we become an example for others to follow and achieve their goals. The path is narrow but the reward is unending. Armed with knowledge, the truth, faith and courage, future generations will be able to have a glimmer of the accomplishments of a little SCV camp nestled in the hills of Appalachia. Such is the objective of General Dispatches.
