Almost daily, we must navigate diverse constructions of identity, socio-political roles and knowledge/task domains. What can teachers do to help our students engage more successfully with this uncertain world? Bringing inquiry into the classroom is one way to prepare them. Inquiry-based learning not only develops students’ abilities to find their own voice and communicate ideas more effectively, it also reinforces key “habits of mind” for critical and creative thinking that extend far beyond the school setting.To help you implement this process, the guide features five flexible Lesson Plans on a variety of strategies that will prepare and motivate your students for their own inquiry journeys.
