The increasingly competitive global business environment which exists today demands that organizations attempt to enhance knowledge acquisition, knowledge sharing and knowledge utilization as a part of their operations. Such organizations which are also known as leaning organizations are better able to manage change, have a higher level of change readiness and are also able to provide a unique competitive advantage which is so essential today because knowledge has been described as a key resource. A learning organization is able to adopt and utilize knowledge rapidly and this is an attribute which is important for the high technology firms of today. This report attempts to investigate if it is possible to have a leraning organization in practice which compares well with the ideal notions of a leraning organization.
