Balaam

Balaam was a famed sorcerer in the time of Moses. King Balak of Moab wanted him to curse the Israelites, who were camped to the north of his kingdom. But, he was prevented from doing so by God. But, he did manage to badly affect the new nation by creating moral and religious mayhem. He was finally killed in battle after Israel suffered from some kind of plague, a penalty for their immorality. What we see is a real occultist in real time.
