This play takes a skewed look at the complexities of a mother-vs-daughter relationship. Amy Loo, a poet, age 34 and unmarried, visits her mother, Rosa, in LA after a long absence. Rosa is determined to “improve Amy’s life”—and hatches a plan to set her up with her accountant, Larry Tanaka. Amy finds Gregor, a locksmith they meet when Rosa locks them out of the house, more to her liking. She foils all of Rosa’s measures. The battle escalates, tactics become more ruthless—-competing red dresses, a flying roast Peking duck, and then the ultimate weapon. . .
