Not every kid would be happy if all the adults disappeared. Alaric is a neurotic computer whiz. A world run by kids is his worst nightmare. He’s sure he can bring the adults back if only he can get to the device that took them. For a boy who is afraid of water, fast driving, enclosed places, dogs, crowds, unfamiliar food, and strangers, the journey from California to Florida is long and treacherous. Radio and TV messages are being transmitted by the inventor of the device that took the adults. To his horror, Lars recognizes the sender as his own dad. Embarrassed, scared and worried about his dad’s fragile mental state, he is desperate to find him. Bella is thrilled that the adults are gone. But she is worried about her missing younger sisters.
