Thurber's Challenge

When Jason enters the Thurber House Prize for Children's Writers, he never dreamed he'd be one of the finalists. But his dream is about to come true. His story was chosen as a finalist in the annual contest, and he travels to Columbus, Ohio, to attend a banquet at which the award will be presented. In Columbus, Jason meets Alex, Chris, and Stacey, otherwise known as the O'Neil siblings. Alex seems to have a crush on Jason, but Jason doesn't exactly feel the same way. Along the road to the banquet, Jason meets many different kids, and discovers the city of Columbus. The author writes in a unique first person perspective, so kids can experience Columbus as Jason! Recommended for ages 10-13.
