A POET'S EMBRACE

Marie Harris was born in Kentucky. Her family moved to Maryland when she was ten. The firstborn in a family of nine children. She started writing poetry at the youthful age of ten. An avid reader, she has always had a love affair with words. She has won numerous awards for her poetry and continues to challenge herself with writing daily. Writing gives her a sense of peace. She hopes that with her writing, she will touch her readers in a positive way. Married for 60 years to her husband, Donald, they have two beautiful daughters, a handsome grandson, and a lovely granddaughter. She has published three books of poetry and is currently working on four and five, to be published this year. She has been published in numerous anthologies and poetry magazines.
