À propos de Mark C. Smith

Mark Smith is a scientist by training whose first book, Where Peacocks Pace: A Local Natural Historian’s Guide to Warwick, reflects his long-standing passion for wildlife and the natural world. Alongside his scientific background, Mark has a deep interest in history. He has spent more than eight years working in the tourist industry in historic Warwick, with particular fascination for Ancient History and the Napoleonic Wars. His latest historical work explores the story of the Royal Warwickshire Regiment, bringing together a single, cohesive narrative that traces the regiment from its formation through to its eventual merger—an interest first sparked at age seventeen while studying the regiment’s role at Dunkirk. Mark also runs the blog Musings on the Wild, a space where he shares reflections on nature conservation, showcases his ecological research, and highlights his wildlife photography. His most recent scientific title, Camera Trapping – A Handbook for Wildlife Researchers and Enthusiasts, is the product of more than a decade of ecological research using trail cameras. In addition, Mark has written educational support materials for GCSE and A-Level biology, helping students engage more deeply with the natural sciences. Mark also uses Lulu to publish books written by his mother, who specialises in children’s literature.
