An account of the life of Edith O'Gorman (1842-1929), "The Escaped Nun", based on her own account and contemporary sources. Her early life, "escape" from the convent following an alleged attempted rape by a priest, and subsequent life on the lecture circuit are all illustrated by extracts from her own writings and those of her critics.
