While at an estate sale with her grandmother, a painting at the sale catches the eye of nine-year-old Emily. When Nana purchases the painting for her, it begins Emily’s adventure into the world of Emoh. Emily makes friends with an Emohite boy and discovers a whole new world of strange creatures -- the mussopos who carry the life stones in their jaw pouches, the emongs who live in intricate tunnels underground, the tirips who are sly creatures with amazing powers, and the poh-pohs who remind Emily of the New Year’s Eve party favors Nana brought her. As Emily gets involved in the mystery of the disappearing life stones, she finds herself in a desperate race to help save Emoh. But can a nine-year-old girl really save a world?
