His moonshine drunken father drove him away from his home at the age of 8. Ten years later he is found in Omaha Nebraska. A police officer from the Santee is sent to Omaha to fetch him. Bryan White Elk is that officer, a man haunted by nightmares of an attempted Murder/Suicide. Little does he know his dreams are connected to Tommy. Bryan and Tommy attend a sweat lodge and in a vision the two men discover they must journey to the hallowed ground of Wounded Knee. Once there, Tommy gets his voice back from a phantom wolf and Paul Silverhoofs the old Sioux Nation Medicine Man passes a great legacy onto Tommy.
