“All men by nature desire understanding.”.. Aristotle (384 BC – 322 BC); was a Greek philosopher and polymath, a student of Plato and teacher of Alexander the Great. His work included logic, physics, politics, metaphysics, rhetoric and zoology, biology, poetic tragedy and ethics that are still relevant today. He also preferred to define things in more concrete and scientific manners and seemed to always have had explanations for everything around him. Metaphysics is one of the principal works of Aristotle and the first major work of the branch of philosophy. In Metaphysics, he develops the first science that studies being as being. The goal of this study is to discover the first cause or causes. Metaphysics is concerned with things which are ‘immovable’ or ‘unchangeable.’ It is a ‘first philosophy’ in that it is concerned with defining the nature of being, while the other branches of science and philosophy are concerned with defining the classes of being.
