Cindy Blake is an individual formerly accused of murder, the child of an abusive parent, and quite alone. Married with two children, Cindy cannot escape her past. This is her story. Cindy takes the reader back to her childhood in a dysfunctional family. Greed and adultery mark her parents’ marriage. Only her brother Billy can truly understand Cindy’s pain. Circumstantial evidence mounts against Cindy. A witness is produced who can place her at the scene of the crime. Aided by Cindy herself, Joseph Benton must challenge the irrefutable evidence and follow his heart to Cindy’s innocence.Child abuse is an issue often kept behind closed doors. Frightening statistics reveal that 42 in every 1000 children were abused nationally in 1999 alone. While these numbers are beginning to decline in the new millennium children are still being abused often at the hands of a parent or other family member.
