The story begins a few years from now, with anti-hero Mike O'Conner, who has become disenfranchised after an overzealous government agent cripples him during his arrest for hacking. Two years later, paroled, down on his luck, and drowning in debt, he is faced with an ethical dilemma; should he tell the FBI what he has illegally learned about the terrorist attacks in Chicago? The FBI response to his honesty is to re-arrest Mike. Through a quirk of deadly circumstances; Mike escapes. Soon, he and his future love interest must stay out of the hands of both the FBI and the world's most deadly terrorist. While being pursued Mike soon learns his troubles are just beginning.
