Transforming Man

An alien mechanical intelligence comes to earth from beyond the stars. It settles down at one of the Lagrange points and sends 600’ cubes to various points on the earth near but not exactly on major population centers. The intelligence starts to communicate with the people, and eventually a relationship with man develops. The intelligence tries to solve a lot of the common problems of man but being unable to understand the notion of the individual it attempts to unsuccessfully unite mankind into the same harmonic unity that it enjoys. Eventually it stores enough energy to continue on to another star system in a never ending journey leaving humans transformed in ways neither the humans nor the intelligence imagined.
