Distant Dreams

This novel describes in graphic style some of the traumatic experiences of the first generation West Indian immigrants who came to the United Kingdom shortly after the Second World War in response to Britain's call for citizens of the Commonwealth to help rebuild Britain. The book depicts with candour and humour the challenges and triumphs of four young men, whilst outlining their rejection and determination to overcome obstacles and create a more integrated, cosmopolitan and diverse country.
