In the Garden

I have been interested in vegetable gardening for many years, since I was 8 or 10 years old. This interest was passed on to me by my Mom & Dad, who acquired it from their parents. Although I have made several unsuccessful attempts over the years, I always wanted to keep a record or journal of the garden. I thought it would be useful information, particularly in regard to the results obtained from planting different varieties, etc. In 2003 I finally accomplished my goal of keeping a record of the garden. It starts with the arrival of the seed catalogs in late December, and continues with starting tomato plants indoors, preparing and planting the garden, and harvesting the crops. However, it turned out to be much more than just a journal. It is an almost daily account of how I attempt to balance the demands of a garden with those of a family, and pleasantly achieving success at both. This book includes updates for 2008 including photos of my 2007 and 2008 gardens.
