Wide Awake Without

The paintings and photos represented in this collection of work spanning 5 years, accounts for a period of multifaceted growth in my development as an artist, photographer, and designer. Many of the landscapes included in this body of work, represent a study in conflict and contrast. Taking inspiration from the natural world, fellow artists, and my own personal photography; I shaped a vision of the world through color, dramatic conflict, and powerful contrast. The selection of photography represents additional levels of contrast; life / death, growth / stagnation, natural beauty / manufactured beauty, motion / stillness, joy / sorrow, young / old, light / dark, and freedom / captivity. 2008 is a new and exciting turning point in my life. I am experiencing a rebirth of artistic expression and exploration through my work. I am currently developing a new series that will explore the duality of human nature. This series will incorporate new and innovative techniques that are under development.
