The Eucharist is an altar book that follows the Anglican Holy Communion Liturgy, using the 1662 Book of Common Prayer form with optional, devotional additions from the Sarum Rite. The former is the use of the church since the 16th century; the latter the centuries which preceded it. The source material comes from 1928 or 1662 Prayer Books, and edited from English translations of the Sarum Rite. This Altar Edition is designed for use with the 1662 Book of Common Prayer: International Edition, the 2019 Anglican Church of North America: Traditional Language Edition as well as the 1928 American Book of Common Prayer. The ACNA Order follows the 1662 Order of Service, as permitted in the book's rubrics, rather than 20th century order of service. Collects and lectionary are included for the historic lectionary, as are ACNA Collects in Traditional Language. The Lectionary includes a table of the First Lessons from Morning and Evening Prayer, as well as abbreviated Old Testament and Psalm options, if a third lesson/Psalm is to be added to Holy Communion where Morning or Evening Prayer is not celebrated.
