Maria Tonu is a Moldovan-born Canadian poet, writer, and anthologist. She writes, reads, and translates from/into three languages: Romanian (native), Russian (born in the former Soviet Union), and English (Canadian citizen).
She resides in Oakville, Ontario, Canada.
Maria Tonu publishes lyrics, flash fiction, prose, quotes, essays, sketches, and literary portraits in the media of the Republic of Moldova,
Romania, Canada, the US, and the UK.
Maria has published as an author: a novel, four poetry books, four poetry books for children, two volumes of short prose and maxims, a monograph, and two books of memoirs/biographies. She has published six anthologies, three as a co-author. As editor and founder of Mediaton Publishing House, Maria Tonu has published 12 books by different writers.
