This design studio focused on Eugene Ionesco's play, "Rhinoceros," and the creation of a catenary system that would act as the stage set for the play. The first stage consisted of studies of catenary. From there we moved to hybrid systems which came from the combination of two partners catenaries and their dynamic systems, which were jigs that allowed one to reconfigure the form of the catenaries into four different versions. These four versions then become four theaters that would accommodate viewers from different angles. The last stage consisted of cannibalizing the best parts of each or our partner projects in our studio and creating one 'cannibal' model for our studio.
