Shall we stop trading with China? Sure. We should do so if that is really good for the country. Come to think of it, maybe the United States should have stopped trading with Japan a long time ago. Between 1976 and 1986, US deficit with Japan grew 10 times larger, whereas US deficit with China grew only 6 times during the last 10 years. But we failed to do so, despite President Washington’s warning against an entangling alliance. But this time around China is not an ally, so we should be less hesitant to do so, if it really makes logical sense.
