The Smart Frrridge comes with an in-built computer that can be connected to the Internet. It is one of a growing category known as "Internet appliances" that include not only handhelds and smartphones, but also web-enabled versions of typical household appliances. Seeing we have so many things going on in the kitchen we thought, "let's put access to the Internet here". And more importantly, the fridge is really the only thing in the house that is on for 24 hours a day! The Smart Frrridge Reader accompanies the exhibition The Smart Frrridge, Chilly Forecast for Internet Fridge, held at Kunstverein Medienturm in Graz, Austria from 11.12.2010 to 19.02.2011. Curated by Sandro Droschl and Yngve Holen, the exhibition featured the artists Nicolas Ceccaldi, Simon Denny, Yngve Holen, Ilja Karilampi, Morag Keil, AIDS-3D (Keller/Kosmas) and Marlie Mul.
