C. Maguire was born and raised in Savannah, Georgia where she attended Catholic schools. After graduating from high school, Ms. Maguire attended Armstrong Atlantic State University for two years before transferring to the University of Georgia in Athens. Shortly after earning her BBA in marketing, she moved to Atlanta and later received her master’s degree from Georgia State University. Ms. Maguire’s first juvenile novel, The Bloody Book Bag Ordeal, was inspired by a paper she submitted to one of her college professors. After reading the paper, the professor commented that it was the funniest essay she’d ever read.
