Sean McCabe is originally from County Meath in Ireland. He was educated at Trinity College, Dublin. He lived in Paris for a couple of years and that was where he started getting involved in the Irish music scene. He co-formed a band there with some busking friends which was called 'The Prodigal Sons'. Some of the members of that band are still active on the Irish music scene, all over the place. Sean moved to New York in 1994 and continued playing music there. He formed a band and called it 'The McCabes'. The McCabes were very prominent on the US Irish music scene, and recorded four albums, one of them being the now cult favourite : 'live at Paddy Reilllys'. One of the highlights of the McCabes' existence was a performance in Shea Stadium in 2003! When Sean moved for a year to Sweden in 2005 he really got down to some writing.
