Out of hundreds of boys, only one has defeated the forbidden forest. Every student at Apollo Academy knows not to enter the forest because of the tales surrounding it. William and his friends are one wrong doing away from being expelled. Regardless of the strict rules of the devotees, William has friends he will cherish for the rest of his life. Frustrated at the possibility of having to leave, he angrily picks his bike up and goes for a ride, accidentally entering the forbidden forest. When he returns to school, he realizes he didn’t return to his school. The building is barren of all students, and no matter how much he travels through the trees, there is no way to get to the other side; Will is alone. With the help of a seemingly friendly griffin and the journal of boys who’ve been there before, William searches for a way back home, assuming there is one.
