2006 - 2009 looks into all the architectural and related cross-disciplinary works done by Alex Tseng in Rice University School of Architecture from 2006 to 2009. The structure of the portfolio is constructed by separating the layers of each project to reveal an intrinsic framework that drives the production of knowledge. This framework involves the importance of craft; the attention to threshold conditions; the exploration of dynamic systems found in biology, in infrastructures, and in daily life; and the experience of teaching abstract concepts to high school students in tangible ways. Tseng seeks to fill his projects with meaning by reducing the projects to nothing more than a simple concept subtly informed by elements of this framework across multiple scales.
