Leading Due Process

Due Process is an intensive 5-hour lesson that engages students in critical thinking skills and conflict resolution. Through a youth-adult partnership framework, this youth-led curriculum is set in the context of a mock trial stemming from a fictional hate crime at school. Peer educators and student participants actively explore challenging concepts about safety and identity, and prepare to create change in their own schools with the active support of classroom teachers and other adult allies. Leading Due Process is the lesson plan for the youth leaders of Due Process. It provides step-by-step instructions for every moment of the curriculum, with helpful hints along the way.
