This is a true World War II personal memoir, recounting civilian life in Germany and a life journey that later led through Africa and America. As life moves forward, everything we own will lose its meaning one day. The only thing that truly stays with us is the memories we create. I wrote this book to honor the memory of my friend Ron Nash. He encouraged me, and I will always respect his strength and courage. Rest in peace, my old friend.
This book is a selected collection of the memories I have gathered throughout my life. Every moment helped me grow, learn, and become the person I am today. Each experience taught me something important.
Sometimes I wonder if everything happened because of fate or because of the choices we make that affect our future. We may never know the real answer. What I do know is that every memory matters and becomes a part of who we are.
