In the 24th century, planets throughout the galaxy have formed a grand coalition called the United Federation of Planets. Many battles have been fought over the years to maintain peace for it's members, and few have seen more than Admiral Robert S. Lyon. Along with his flagship, the mighty U.S.S. Maximillian, the Federation has enjoyed a relative tranquil state. But nothing lasts forever. A mysterious object has suddenly appeared in space, destroying a peaceful station and setting course directly for Earth.
