A Great and Sudden Change

A shocking suicide in small-town Connecticut leads three teens—a haunted boy, a grieving girlfriend, and a seasoned paranormal investigator—on a deadly path confronting curses, conspiracies, and their own shortcomings as otherworldly danger closes in. Summer vacation in Oakton, CT ends with the tragic suicide of a teenage boy. Davy, from the next town over, thinks he is haunted, and the dead boy is the key. Valerie, the boy’s girlfriend, refuses to believe that he would take his own life—or at least refuses to not know why. By the end of the week, Emma reaches out in honor of the boy she only knew from his urbex photos online to offer what she can as a psychic and paranormal investigator. As unwinding the mystery only reveals more tangles, each step forward carries them closer to a certain, unshaped danger, hidden behind mirrors, candles, and occult symbols spray-painted on an elevator floor.
