In 1882, Thirteen-year-old Annika Gustavssen's father, a Swedish military officer, mysteriously, and secretly, decides to take his family to America. Annika has special powers. She experiences foretelling - knowing what will happen in advance of it happening. Annika's family began a new life, but all is not well in America, because the past knows no borders. It follows Annika's father across the sea to America. Annika must find a way to save her family from evil forces that could destroy them all.
