Vincent Scott runs into a tragedy, when he shows up late to a dance at Russing Place, his former residence.
As Detective Esau Henry investigates a death in the house, a series of obstacles begin to appear, most notably, the victim’s brother.
Initially, a debate ensues over whether the death was a suicide or a murder.
Then, the focus turns to the brothers’ relationships with Amanda Reynolds, whose inheritance has made her a very rich target.
It appears that both the victim and his brother were pursuing her.
The first brother died, the second ran away.
Or, was it vice versa?
