Gems of Light

People often use the phrase, “There’s light at the end of the tunnel” This phrase is intended to give us hope to continue our quest, even though we sometimes find ourselves trudging through one of life’s seemingly endless dark tunnels of loss, despair, anxiety or fear … as we all do from time to time. However, for me that phrase has always seemed to emphasise the oppressive blackness of the tunnel … the feeling of isolation and hopelessness as one is compelled to make the lonely, sombre, solitary journey through the tunnel, searching for the promised light. But, if you carry this little book with you and refer to it often, the concise gems of light contained in it can act as comforting and enlightening beacons, brightly lighting your path all the way through whatever tunnel you may encounter – instead of groping your way through the dark, waiting to reach the solitary, lonely light at the end.
