CRISPR is a tool for gene editing. In the right hands it can create redder, riper tomatoes with a longer shelf life or put a halt to inherited diseases. In the wrong hands it can produce a pandemic. It desperately needs both pertinent legislation and effective enforcement. Do right and it will do right by you. I have faith that CRISPR will work to the benefit of mankind. It cannot help but alter the future of the planet. Evolution is a hit or miss game of chance in which it often takes millions of years to see the results. CRISPR is a game of skill. Noticeable changes can be seen within our lifetime.
