This small collection of poems, for me encapsulates a quest for a hidden and more dreamlike world. In these poems I try to touch the raw nerve of a pulse beyond conventional clarity and reason, in much the same way as the surrealist movement of the early 20th Century.
The Argonauts is a poem that attempts to portray the experiences of one of the nameless men with Jason on the mission to recover the Golden Fleece. In this poem I try to suggest a parallel world within our own in which the events of myth actually happened. What would that mean to our minds - how would that crest over our limited human experience?
This collection deliberately spans a range of moods, from comic to melancholy, from light to dark: some irreverent, and some deeply romantic. Is that not a reflection of human experience?
An unusual and interesting collection of modern poetry, condensed and edited from many years of writing, observation and thought... enjoy!
