Jack Handley is 87 and still active. With a lifetime of memories growing up in Scotland in the 1920s, this book of more than two dozen snapshot pieces written by his son is part biography and partly vignettes and anecdotes. All the stories are short, from Jimmy the Knife to Billy Five Toes and the few that don't make you laugh out loud will bring a smile to your face or perhaps make you thankful that you don't have to make a living in similar conditions. The illustrations are from family albums.
