Jackson started writing the book ancient rome because he took an intrest in history and decided he would learn ancient civilizations which lead him to rome which he found the most intresting out of them all he started readding everything about it. So he started writing this novel filled with everything there is to know about the romans and there history there religion greatest impacts and all about there military. As the author said he was ruled by fear which brought rome to it's most crucial point and destroyed the empire of rome forever. This book would be a perfect choice if you want to learn about romans. After you read this book you should read his second book about the ancient greeks and how they lived and ruled for a long time in history
