Thumper

The town of Prosperity is not apt to its name. It's a desolate, dry, receding town in the western United States that sees little rain or tourists. Living here is eight-year-old Tommy Dunne and his mother Lana. One day Tommy is befriended by a rabbit-man who calls himself Thumper McGriff. What ensues is a personal enlightenment for Tommy unlike anything he's ever experienced before--and will indubitably stay with him for the rest of his life. He fights not only at first to convince his incredulous mother that Thumper is real, but also that he is not foe but friend, and is later striving to simply ascertain the truth. Title aside, this story is not intended for young readers.
