This book tells the author's story of having becoming motherless at the
age of two and suffering from the effects of polio from the age of three; her
struggle to establish a career, marriage and family against the difficulties
of reduced mobility and the lack of understanding of her illness and the
rights and needs of women. It tells the story of her first 60 years and gives
insights into life in Sydney over those years.
It reflects the repeated disappointments that the author has had to face and
demonstrates the power of the human spirit to keep seeking the love that is
the right of each of us to give and to receive.
