This is the story of a loving marriage, through the joys and hardships of 65 years together. John recounts childhood memories of the Great Depression, a hitchhiking trip across America, and fraternity life in the 40s. He details his service as a young soldier in World War II, the experience that shaped the rest of his life. He recalls the challenges of running an old hardware store and then moving across country to start a new career. Finally, he describes the rewards and struggles of their retirement years.
The book concludes with a collection of fond memories from the Gormans' daughter and grandchildren.
