Pain Flexibility

Pain Flexibility

A Practical Workbook for Understanding Chronic Pain, Regulating the Nervous System, and Moving Toward What Matters

ParJohn T. Sorrell

Habituellement imprimé en 3-5 jours ouvrés
Pain Flexibility is a practical, patient-centered workbook for people living with chronic pain. Chronic pain can pull life toward fear, overprotection, overdoing, withdrawal, frustration, and feeling stuck. This workbook offers another path: learning to understand what your pain system is doing, recognize the state your body is in, and develop a wider range of responses so pain does not make every decision. Drawing from contemporary pain psychology and behavioral medicine, Pain Flexibility combines clear education with practical exercises for pacing and movement, flexible thinking, nervous-system regulation, emotional coping, communication, sleep, flare management, and values-guided action. The goal is not to force the body to be calm, ignore pain, or simply “think positive.” It is to build greater flexibility—the ability to notice what is happening, respond in a way that fits the moment, and continue moving toward what matters. Throughout the workbook, readers are encouraged to Pause. Notice. Choose. Pain gets a vote. It does not get the only vote. Pain Flexibility: Live More. Suffer Less.
