Through A Glass, Finally is a memoir in poetry about the complexities and anguish of being a lesbian at the wrong time, which never fully becomes the right time. It is about being raised in a world of homophobia that doesn’t change when one “comes out” because that homophobia sticks to the skin. It is the heartbreak, guilt and fear of choosing whose life to live; the acceptance of all the wasted years being someone else until aging opens another arena. And yet there is love and joy in the words for a life finally lived. The feelings expressed are so passionate that they will resonate within the reader long after the last page is read.
