Around Robin tells the story of Katie Pratt through the annual Christmas ‘Round Robin letters she writes to friends over the years from 1990-1999.
Married to Robin (whom her life revolves around) Katie lives in Notre Champ in leafy Cheshire with her 3 children and black Labrador, Shadow.
The book is structured through these letters, letters which detail not only the successes and mishaps experienced by her family in the previous year, but also her own life which revolves around her family, and, of course, Robin. Each year, Katie carefully chronicles the family’s news – from house moves to holidays, delinquent teenagers to deaths.
The letters are funny and sad and, as time goes on, become more and more dark as we begin to hear so much more between the lines Katie is writing, than she intends to tell.
